Born in Hungary, Tamas began sailing on the lake as a child on 420 and 470 class boats. He later moved on to larger boats, competing with excellent results in the international Melges 24, J-24 and X-35 circuits. In 1997he attended a professional school dedicated to composite boat building, and in 2017 he won a bronze medal at the J-24 European Championships. His experience in building carbon hulls led him to work around the world, collaborating with the most important shipyards in Spain, Austria, Malaysia, and Germany. He entered Persico Marine in 2013 and participated in the construction of the two Luna Rossa AC75 yachts for the 36th America's Cup - presented by PRADA in 2021. He joined the Italian team in 2022 and also worked on the third AC75 built for the 37th edition in Barcelona. The 2024 event is his first America's Cup as a team member.
