Born in Trieste, Nicolas graduated from the Nautical Institute and began sailing at the age of six at the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano; from there he competed in several European Championships and World Championships in the Optimist and 420 classes. Once out of the Youth Classes he began racing on monotypes and larger boats, following the development of important racing hulls as shore team crew. Specializing in hydraulics, Nicolas joined the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli shore team in 2023. The 2024 America's Cup will be his first. In his spare time he enjoys windsurfing, kiting and other water-related sports.
