After graduating from a high school specialized in applied science in Verona, Pietro then enrolled in university where he is still studying towards a degree in Economics. A sailing enthusiast since childhood, he began on Optimists, later moving to Lasers and larger boats such as the J/70s, Extreme 40 and Melges 32, a class with which he won the World Championship in 2022. In 2018, following in the footsteps of his brother Umberto (now Project Manager for special projects and liaison between the Design Team and the Shore Team in Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli), he joined the 69F Class, contributing to the development of most of the boat's systems and becoming, four years later, the shore team manager. In 2022 he was also called by Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli to join the rigging department where he now works full-time. The 2024 America's Cup will be his first. In his spare time Pietro enjoys wing foiling, kitesurfing, climbing and cycling.
