Carlo started his sailing career at a very young age. When he was 5, he started sailing in the Optimist class, achieving a few podiums in national regattas and immediately showing a strong aptitude for speed. At 13 he moved up to windsurfing, where he was even faster, but he never gave up sailing and continued to race on large boats. In his windsurfing career Carlo has been junior world champion and achieved other international podiums in the Olympic class. He was an Olympic reserve for Tokyo 2020 and was the sparring partner for selected athletes. In 2017 he started foiling both with windsurf and boats and can be considered one of the wing foil pioneers in Italy. Over the years he has worked on the development of different forms of foils for well-known brands. He spends his free time surfing. This is his first America's Cup.
