Marco was a member of the Finn national team from 1978 to 1982. From 1984 he worked as a coach with the Italian Sailing Federation and was a member of the Olympic Team staff from 1990 to 2000, participating in the Olympic Games in Barcelona '92, Atlanta '96, Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008. He has followed important international racing circuits such as the 44 Cup, 69F, ClubSwan Racing, TF35, World Match Racing Tour, Melges, Volvo Ocean Race, MOD70, Pre-Olympic Weeks. His America's Cup experience began in 1983, when he took part in the first Italian campaign with Azzurra as a crew member and athletic trainer. He then participated in all of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli’s participations in the America’s Cup as a coach (2000 - 2003 - 2007 - 2013- 2021); in 2017 he was with Oracle Team USA. The 2024 edition will be his eighth America's Cup. He loves music and Hi-Fi. If he had not become a sailor he would still have chosen a profession related to the sea and sports.
