An experienced sailor and sailmaker, Michele was born in Palermo and began sailing on Optimists before moving on to the 420 and 49er, a class in which he took part in an Olympic campaign. His skiff years coincide with his first job in a Sicilian sail loft, where he starts a career that will take him to the most important international racecourses, from those dedicated to RC44, TP52 and Maxi Yachts, to round-the-world yachts. Michele in fact has taken part in four Volvo Ocean Races (2008 Telefonica, 2011 & 2014 Groupama, 2017 Volvo 65 Boatyard - sailmaker for the organization). He has two America's Cup participations (+39 Challenge in 2007; Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli in 2021). The 2024 Cup will be his third. He spends his free time with his family.
