He started sailing very young, choosing later on to focus on rowing. In 2010 he wore the Maglia Azzurra for the first time, winning a European Championship. With the Italian national team he took part in seven World Championships, winning one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. In 2016 he returned to sailing, winning an ORC Italian Championship, a Giraglia and three editions of the Barcolana. He also took part in the Copa del Rey and in the Middle Sea Race. He joined Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team in 2021 thanks to the New Generation program. The event in Barcelona in 2024 will be his second America's Cup. He loves reading, wing foil, kite surfing, surfing and snowboarding. If he were not a professional sailor, he would have liked to become a chef.
