LUNA ROSSA RESUMES Y&W TRAINING SESSIONS
Lisa Vucetti joins the women’s team
October draws to a close with the arrival of a new athlete and a further training session for Luna Rossa’s youth and women’s crews, aimed at finalizing both squads ahead of next year’s regattas. Meanwhile, the AC75 moves into the hangar for a period of maintenance.
«We have resumed our training program in Cagliari with the AC40, while continuing to scout for the best talent to join our crews ahead of the 2027 regattas», explains Jacopo Plazzi Marzotto, Luna Rossa coach and Y&W program coordinator. «Over these days, we are alternating simulator sessions, safety drills and on-water training, with support from Senior team members who are working alongside the young female and male sailors to help them integrate into the group and become familiar with the boat. Our goal is to give everyone as much time on the water as possible so they can progress quickly and reach the group’s level. We are very pleased to welcome Lisa Vucetti. She first caught our attention this summer, before the 470 Junior World Championship—which she went on to win with Vittorio Bonifacio—and she is now confirming our excellent first impressions: she is a technically accomplished sailor with a strong aptitude for teamwork, a quality we value highly».
AC40 training will continue with scheduled sessions throughout the remainder of the year and into 2027, while the AC75 will return to the water once maintenance is complete.
